We encourage authors to include a data sharing statement when submitting their article, explaining:
- What additional unpublished data from the study—if any—are available
- Who can access the data
- How to obtain the data
At present there is no major repository for clinical data, but Dryad has declared its willingness to accept medical datasets.
How and when to deposit data
- Authors can start the process while submitting to any BMJ journal.
- Dryad provides a DOI for the dataset to aid citation and provide a permanent link to the data.
- Data can be made available at the time of submission, and authors are free to share their data during the publication process.
Licence: Dryad hosts data using a CC0 licence. Please check that this is suitable for the data you would like to deposit.
